Joining the library is easy and
membership is free.

Either complete the

Call in to any Library,
complete a form and show two proofs of address.

We will give you a library card except at the
Mobile
Library
link to pid 444, where we still operate a ticket system. If at a later date you change
your name, address or phone number please tell us so we can keep our records
up to date.

You can borrow books right away
but if you wish to borrow sound recordings or videos we will send you a letter
to confirm your address. We will also send a letter if you live outside the
area before you can borrow anything.

There is no minimum age for children
to join the library. We don't need proof of address if you are under 16 but
a parent or guardian must sign the form before you can borrow any items.
Your library card is issued subject to
the byelaws of the Libraries; in signing your ticket you are amp to
comply with these. A copy of the byelaws is available
at each library. All information held on our computer is covered by the Data
Protection Act and will not be given to any unauthorised person or
organisation.
