If you have low housing points and are prepared to live in a less desirable Council property, you may be able to get a transfer more quickly through the Easy Access Scheme.
Properties in the scheme are mostly two or three bedroom and are on the less popular estates.
There are also a number of Hard to Let properties in the area.
A dwelling is defined as 'Hard to Let', when there have been three offers refused or where there are no suitable applicants on the waiting lists for the type of property in that area.
In cases of Hard to Let dwellings, we will advertise the vacancy at the property, and at the Council's Offices and Information Points, seeking applicants who express a positive wish to be accommodated in the property. Priority is given to applicants already on the Council's Housing Register.
If there are a number of applicants, allocation will be determined by reference to the Council's allocation policies. Hard to Let properties will also be advertised here on our web page. In some cases a minimum age limit will apply. If you are over 18 years of age and wish to be considered for an advertised Hard to Let property, please contact us.
The following properties are currently designated hard to let or are included in the Easy Access Scheme:
