Local Plans provide the basis for making decisions on planning applications. </i></p><hr/><p>When considering special projects, we have particular responsibilities for:</p><ul>

<li title="*">Initiating and developing policies which lead to positive change and the regeneration of run-down areas,</li>
|
|
<li title="*">preparing and promoting an environmental enhancement programme,</li>
|
|
<li title="*">investigating and where appropriate bidding for regeneration funds from Government and other sources,</li>
|
|
<li title="*">drafting development and design briefs and enhancement schemes,</li>
|
|
<li title="*">working in consultation with local communities, corporately within the Council and with other agencies and partnerships when developing strategies and programmes. </li>
