attract new and sustainable investment. </li>

to assist infrastructure development.</li>

and organisations to adopt 'Lifelong Learning' to equip them to compete

now and into the future.</li>

of our market towns and villages.</li>

groups to harness resources. </li>

</ul><p>The Council encourages both competition and sustainability

in all areas of the local economy. The Unit actively promotes the area and

|
offers business development and support, and attempts to remove barriers to
|
|
investment where possible.</p><p>Local residents and communities also focus heavily
|
|
in the work of the Unit, which keenly encourages improvements to the local
|
|
physical infrastructure and
|
|
services.</p><p>Support is given to local community groups in
|
|
the form of advice, information and grants.
