If you are working or have circumstances that are likely to change your benefit period will be shorter normally 26 - 30 weeks. The date that your current claim is due to end is shown on the letter telling you how much benefit you will receive. </i></p><hr/><p>If you are 60 or over, benefit can be awarded for a maximum of 5 years. This will be the case for all claims from April 2004. </p><p>A benefit renewal invitation claim form will be sent to you about 8 weeks before your claim is due for renewal.
