Who qualifies for a residents permit?</h4><p>Residents who keep and use a car, a van with an unladen weight not exceeding 35cwt (1,778kg) or motorcycle on a full-time basis will normally qualify for a permit. Businesses operating within a controlled zone area may also qualify for one permit.</p><h4>
|
|
|
|
Who qualifies for a visitors permit</h4><p>Only one transferable visitors permit can be issued to each household. Businesses operating within a controlled zone may also qualify for one visitors permit.</p><p>The visitors permit is issued in addition to the residents parking permit.</p><h4>
|
|
|
|
Note for orange/blue badge holders</h4><p>If you have a disabled persons blue badge you can park in 2 hour spaces for as as long as you wish. In accordance with the orange/blue badge scheme you may park for up to three hours on single or double yellow lines</p><p>
|
|
<strong>You cannot park in resident permit holders spaces unless you also have a valid permit for the area.</strong>

How to use your permit</h4><p>Visitors permits may only be given to those calling at the permit holders address. It is the householders responsibility to ensure that their permit is retrieved from a visitors vehicle at the end of their stay. All permits must be displayed clearly in the windscreen of the vehicle.</p><h4>

What The Permit Allows You To Do</h4><p>The permit will let you park in any parking spaces which are reserved for permit holders. Your duties as a permit holder</h4><p>It is your duty to ensure: </p><ul>

Renewing Your Permit</h4><p>You will be responsible for renewing your permit if: </p><ul>

<li title="*">Your permit expires - visitors permits are valid for one year and residents permits valid for two years. You change your vehicle - send in the old permit with your new vehicle details to the address listed under where to apply.</li>

What is a contract car park pass?</h4><p>Contract car park passes are available for pay and display car parks within the Borough. A pass can be purchased and a disc will be issued to display in your vehicle, which allows parking in a designated car park for a duration of 6 or 12 months.</p><h4>
