<li title="*">a new tenant going into their new home</li>
<li title="*">following major repairs or programmed works within their home e.g. re-plastering</li>
</ul><p>The Council decides how much the payment will be by calculating it on a room to room basis.</p><p>The decoration allowance is issued in a voucher form that tenants can exchange for goods in most DIY stores. (NB this only applies for goods classed as decoration materials.) The voucher must be used within 6 months of issue.</p><p>How can I apply for a decoration allowance if I have major/programmed works?</p><p>To apply for a decoration allowance for major/programmed works you must put your request in writing to the Council detailing the following information:</p><ul>
<li title="*">Your name</li>
<li title="*">Address</li>
<li title="*">Reason why you are requesting to receive this payment</li>
